WELCOME TO WIND NOMADS KITESURFING SCHOOL

I first met Ceci in Greece as she observed my first kitesurfing lesson which wasn't a great experience. She told me she could teach me the next day if I chose to come back, and that she thought she could help me. Over the past year and a half, I've gone to take classes with her 3 times, and each time I've seen results and had a great time. She goes completely above and beyond with instruction and is your coach/cheerleader/friend who always challenges you and pushes you. I remember asking her in Greece if she thought I would ever be able to kitesurf if I put in the effort and she promised me I would. I'm eternally grateful for our lessons and owe it to her that I stuck with them and have fallen in love with the sport. If you're considering taking lessons and are lucky enough to be able to have a class with Ceci and her team, I highly recommend taking the opportunity to do so!

Ceci is a fantastic instructor. She makes you feel confident in the water every time you go to the lagoon with her. She has the patience of a saint and the analytical eye of a forensic investigator! I met Ceci on the beach after taking a very nasty spill while taking a lesson with another instructor from another school that left me scratched up and scared. She saw the whole incident from the shore because she was on a break. After the lesson was over she approached me and first gave me kudos for being a tough cookie and not quitting the lesson and then went on to explain to me what have I done wrong and how to prevent it and even more important, what to do in a situation of panic. I started lessons with her immediately and under her fierce guidance, have been making progress every time we meet. Her teaching style is very straightforward and clear, she has a keen eye for troubleshooting your mistakes and adapting the lesson to your particular ability, making learning faster and giving you a sense of accomplishment every single session. She’s the nicest, funniest, toughest, honest, and most positive instructor I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to roam the lagoon with her again!

Cecilia and Tim of WIND NOMADS are not only outstanding instructors of kiteboarding but quality people and an excellent team Watching them work together as a couple and as international travelers is a joy. They clearly love what they do, and are masterful at their sport and instruction. Their school name suits them to a “T”, since I happened to catch them in Isla Blanca, Mexico, but by late summer they will be teaching in the Greek islands, and fall will find them in the Red Sea sea of Egypt. Who knows where else they will be through the year, as they are natives from Argentina and Belgium respectively. heir gear is excellent, choice of location to teach in Mexico is accessible for everyone from beginners like me to advanced kiteboarders doing freestyle.

So any kiteboarder knows and remembers their journey to get to a point to be independent. Oh, I took lessons with many instructors in Tampa, Maui, Ventana, Bay Area to little avail. It was sad. It was until about three years ago I took instruction with Tim and Ceci that things changed for me very quickly. I broke through. I got my upwind. I got my back rolls, I got my jumps. They filled in the details. They taught me when I was ready to be taught the style that works for me and in the way they knew would be most beneficial. They are that good! They helped this poor kid finally progress with the advanced teaching concepts and put everything together for me. They have taught Kiteboarding for more than 10 years all over the world in Egypt, Brazil, Greece, Portugal, South Africa and I really enjoy teaching and I think it is rare, perhaps very rare to meet an international couple so focused and committed to their students. And they know and I know that Isla Blanca is the best place for beginners to learn. Don't waste your time and energy with other places or other instructors. Isla Blanca is where you will progress and you would be extremely lucky to receive instruction from them. Highest levels of respect for who they are as people, patience, intrinsic love for the sport, and ability to read people and move them forward to love surfing and jumping for years to come.
